Posted On Jan 5, 2012 at , 2:54 PM by SyahrizalSamsung Electronics Co Ltd (Samsung) had recently announced the commercial availability of its new GALAXY Note in Southeast Asia.
The 1.4GHz dual-core processor powered GALAXY Note will be available from November with major operators including SingTel, StarHub, M1 and Viettel in the region.
As for Malaysia, both DiGi and Celcom have secured exclusive rights to sell the device with their data plans.
What is in it?
For starters: the world´s first largest HD Super AMOLED display screen on a smartphone. This 5.3" wonder is an expansive high-resolution display that provides the core functions of the GALAXY Note. Providing immersive and one of the best viewing experiences yet, it´s unique size offer users maximum portability that does not compromise on enhanced usability.
Complementing this is the S Pen, the GALAXY Note´s re-introduction of the stylus for a smartphone. Taking full advantage of the large display, GALAXY Note users will be able to multi-task, create and consume more multimedia data, with fewer interruptions, while on the go.
The incorporated digital S Pen can be used for accurate sketching and artwork, while superior handwriting recognition allows ideas to be freely captured and shared with other devices without the need to perform any additional digitization - handwritten text is accurately converted into digital characters.
"The GALAXY Note is set to redefine and enhance mobile communications by offering a creative user experience with its innovative features such as S Memo, S Planner and S Choice," said Gregory Lee, President and CEO of Samsung Asia.
Alongside the commercial availability of GALAXY Note, Samsung also announced the launch of ´S Choice´, a new category menu under Samsung Apps, with applications specially designed for GALAXY Note’s S Pen feature.
New applications include Soonr Workplace, OmniSketch, Zen Brush, ComicBook!, and iAnnotate PDF. Soonr Workplace enables team collaboration by allowing direct annotation on the various file formats stored in the Soonr Cloud and iAnnotate PDF provides a direct annotation mode for S Pen when viewing a PDF file.
As for the OmniSketch and Zen Brush apps, they act as fundamental tools for sketching and drawing. OmniSketch enables users to sketch using the S Pen as a brush, while Zen Brush provides oriental brush simulation.
