Fujifilm DSLR X-S1 : Superzoom camera from Fuji

Fujifilm's latest entry into the bridge camera market is the X-S1, a camera which the company claims has a high-quality look and feel, with metal dials and a rubberised coating that makes it more like a premium DSLR.

However, the major feature of the X-S1 is the Fujinon 26x optical zoom lens, which has a whopping range of 24-624mm (35mm equivalent) and maximum aperture of f/2.8 at the wide-angle end.

The zoom range can further be extended with Fuji's Intelligent Digital Zoom which will double the entire zoom range to 24-1248mm.

The camera has all the usual shooting modes (Program, Aperture-priority, Shutter-priority and Manual) as well as full auto modes that can inteligently switch the sensor to get more dynamic range or better low-light capability.

The X-S1 uses a 2/3in, 12-megapixel EXR CMOS sensor, has a 3in tiltable LCD as well as a electronic viewfinder with a resolution of 1.44 million dots.

The ISO range of the camera is between 100 to 3,200 and can be pushed up to 12,800 although in this mode you can only shoot small JPEG images.

The X-S1 has a recommended retail price of RM2,988 and comes with a free 8GB SD card and softcase.
