Epson's first running tracker
Posted On Mar 25, 2012 at , 4:19 PM by SyahrizalSeiko Epson Corp has unveiled what it says is the world's lightest Global Positioning System (GPS) enabled running monitor, housed within an extremely thin design.
Designed to be worn like a wristwatch, the monitor marks the company's first entry into the electronic sporting goods market.
Attached to a flexible strap, it weighs 50g, is 13mm thick and water resistant up to 50m of water, eliminating worry over getting caught in downpours.
The compact, high-accuracy, low-power built-in GPS module offers runners accurate real-time performance data including distance, pace, and speed.
The device can operate for up to 12 hours on a full charge with GPS tracking on, which is more than enough juice for long-distance events, from full marathons to trail runs.
It is expected to hit stores early next year.
