SONY Alpha 57 DSLR Series : A new Sony Alpha on the way

The 16.1-megapixel camera adopts the same translucent mirror technology found in the Alpha 65 model that allows light to hit the CMOS image sensor and the autofocus sensor simultaneously to enable full-time continuous autofocus during both still and video shooting.

If you need to capture a fast shooting subject, the Alpha 57 is able to grab shots at 12 frames per second (fps). It has an ISO range of 100 -16,000 and in-body image stablisation that enables it to stabilise shots on any lens that is fitted on the camera.

The rear tilt-enabled 3in LCD isn't the only way to frame shots as the Alpha 57's Tru-Finder viewfinder gives photographers an accurate picture of what they are about to capture.

The camera shoots full HD movies in AVCHD format at a 50p (progressive) frame rate and there is full control over P/A/S/M shooting modes.

The Alpha 57 will be available in Malaysia in April. No official price has been announced.
