Ultra-fast booting, powerful processors, fast SSDs (solid-state drives) and unrivalled portability - these are just a few of the features, claims LG, that make its new Ultrabooks "super."
The South Korean consumer electronics manufacturer is getting ready to debut two brand new series of Ultrabooks, the Super Ultrabook Z330 and the Z43, at the International Consumer Electronics Show this week.
The Z330 and Z43 fit into a new category of laptops that are light, thin, powerful and portable.
The Z330 is a compact beast that sports LG's Super Speed Boot technology for start-up times that are approximately three times faster than other 13in notebooks on the market.
Inside its sleek, clutch-design, exterior is a second-generation Intel Core i7 processor that can boot up in less than 10 seconds and recover from stand-by mode in just two seconds.
The laptop has an overall profile of 14.7mm and weighs a light 1.21kg.
Its bigger brother, the 14in Z430 is slightly thicker and heavier at 19.9mm and 1.50kg but still manages to earn the title of "most compact 14in notebook available in the market" - at least for now.
Like the Z330, the Z430 is powered by Intel's Core i7 processor. The Z430, however, offers up to 500GB of storage on a hard disk drive and an optional 16GB or 128GB SSD while the Z330 offers a 120GB or 256GB SSD.
Ultrabooks are expected to dominate this year's tech offerings from high-profile electronics companies at CES. Major manufacturers including Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Samsung and Toshiba will be on hand to reveal their take on the blossoming ultrabook category.
Also on show at CES will be LG's P535 and A540 3D notebooks, and the company's 23in all-in-one V300 PC with a 3D display and wide viewing angle.
