New Infinity Blade to take advantage of new iPad
Posted On Mar 25, 2012 at , 4:13 PM by SyahrizalNever skipping a beat, Epic Games is ready with Infinity Blade: Dungeons for those looking to furnish a shiny iPad 3 with an app specifically designed for it.
This time, the game follows an apprentice weaponsmith who is sent on a dangerous mission to create the Infinity Blade itself.
The iPad 3's increased memory and better processors contribute to Dungeons' improved graphical finery, though it will be made available for other iOS devices as well.
Upon release later this year, Dungeons will become the third in the series and with good reason: October 2010's Infinity Bladegenerated over US$20mil (RM60mil) in revenue over 10 months thanks to a higher than average up-front cost and the option to boost character progression with in-app purchases.
The price at least makes it somewhat unusual among its peers, given that the App Store's biggest earners are usually entirely reliant on those in-app payments to make their millions - Zynga Poker, Smurfs Village, and the like - and while Angry Birds levies a 99 cents (RM3) initial charge, users then receive a stream of free updates.
ON A MISSION: The game follows an apprentice weaponsmith who is sent on a dangerous mission to create the Infinity Blade.
Combined with December 2011's Infinity Blade II and the series's various accoutrements (novel, soundtrack, arcade machine), the series had pulled in US$30mil (RM90mil) by Jan 2012.
